On the 2nd of September 2009 . The year threes went to Te Papa to learn about a Powhiri. First we went to a stage to sort some cards out which had maori words on it. We had to put them in order of what happens in a powhiri. A powhiri a welcoming onto a marae. Then we went to look at a doorway called a waharoa and talked about it . After that we went to a room to see some greenstone 3 were shaped like a tiki .We went to see some cloaks that the men wore in the challenges . After that we went to a meeting room there were lots of seats. Then we went to a colourful modern marae to search for stories . And after we got to have look around .
