Yesterday Room 8 and Room 10 went to Te papa to explore the Maori marae and we looked at the waharoa which is a doorway to a maori village. When the Maori warriors come and put a feather or a leaf and if the vistors pick up the leaf then the people are friends. Then we went to two meeting houses the first house was a traditional maori meeting house which represents the shape of a body. The front is the arms and the back is the legs and inside the roof is the spine and the ribs. The second marae was filled with modern stories for all New Zealanders.
